Typing Guru is a free typing practice website. This page explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

• Usage/analytics data: page views and practice events, such as finishing a lesson and its speed and accuracy, measured with Google Analytics. Until you accept analytics cookies these are sent without cookies (see below).
• No advertising data: this site shows no ads and runs no ad networks, so nothing is collected for advertising purposes.
• No third-party trackers: nothing on this site loads an advertising or social widget.
• No account profile: we don’t require you to create an account to use lessons and practice features.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies/local storage for essential functionality and, depending on your choice, for analytics. You can change your preferences anytime using “Cookie settings” in the footer.

Third-party services

• Google Analytics: used to understand site usage. It loads on every page in Google’s Consent Mode: until you accept analytics cookies it sets no cookies and sends only cookieless measurement pings, such as a page view or a finished lesson.
• GitHub (desktop app only): once a day the desktop app asks GitHub for the latest release, to tell you when an update is available. The request carries nothing about you or your practice.

Your choices

• Use the footer “Cookie settings” link to update consent choices at any time.
• If you reject analytics cookies, Google Analytics sets no cookies. The cookieless pings described above are still sent. The core typing practice works either way.
